House Full of Boys

I'm not even going to try to backtrack and fill in the gap of time I haven't blogged.  I'll just start fresh. :) Life is busy here in the Stewart household.  My babies are turning into boys.  Who am I kidding, they've already turned into boys.  Camden is almost 4 and Hudson is almost 2!  I can hardly believe it! They both love sports.  Camden is playing t-ball for the first time.  He seems to really like it.  He has matured a lot since the soccer season and there hasn't been as much crying.  He enjoys hitting the ball off the tee most.  He recently got his own bat and tee and both boys love practicing hitting and catching.  Hudson thinks he is old enough to get out there and play.  He wants to practice with the team and can't understand why he can't go on the field with them.  He even got his own glove for Easter.  Hudson also likes watching sports.  He'll climb up onto the couch, sit down next to Daddy, and tell us the sport that is on TV.  Hockey is a favorite for both boys.  Camden wants to play hockey someday (I think we'll wait until he's a little older for that one) and Hudson loves watching hockey.  They each got soft hockey sticks from Aunt Brooke for Christmas and they play with them every day.  The boys also love wrestling.  Almost every day they go into the guest room and wrestle (aka roll around) the bed.  When Daddy gets home he's told that its time to wrestle.  They love being tickled and "thrown" onto the bed by him.  I use that opportunity to have some quiet time for myself or to get some things accomplished.  I leave the rough play to the boys.  Even with all that they are still my sweet little boys and I hope they stay that way for a long time!

Camden and Hudson had a great Easter...dying Easter eggs, making egg-shaped rice crispy treats, 3 egg hunts, lots of treats and presents from grandparents and the Easter Bunny...  Really they love anytime when they get presents and get to eat junk food. :)

Hudson is talking more and more and putting some simple sentences together.  He knows the name of a lot of objects and can follow simple directions, which makes my life a lot easier!  He has definitely started the terrible twos though.  He wants what he wants and there is no other option.  Or at least thats how he sees it.  If he doesnt' get exactly what he wants he usually throws something and throws a fit.  We have had to use time out for the throwing.  It seems to be working, at least to calm him down a little bit.

Camden is mostly out of the tantrum phase, except for when he's really tired. He's acting older and older. The things he says and does make me realize that he's not going to be little for much longer! He knows his letters and sounds and is starting some basic sight words in school. His vocabulary amazes me sometimes. The other day he was on the couch eating his snack while I was in the kitchen doing dishes. He said very camly, "Mommy, there's a goldfish in my nose." What? I thought we were past that...he's never done anything like that before! I asked him why he put it in there and of course he didn't know. After probably the fifth time asking him (and it still wasn't out) why he put it up there he said, "I put it in my nose and then I realized it wasn't fun." He was so serious as he said it. We thankfully got it out, thanks to some good advice from a doctor, without having to take him to the doctor. We have been there a lot lately and I did not want to go back! The whole situation was sort of funny, especially once the goldfish was out of his nose.
