Marathon Doctor's Appointment

Today was my 28 week appointment. I can't believe I'm that far along. I still feel like I have a long way to go but when the doctor says I have to see her every two weeks now, and then I realize I'm in my third trimester, it seems pretty doable. I still have so much to do before the baby makes his appearance (which will be around May 27 - I might get scheduled as soon as a month from now). Camden has been sleeping in his big boy bed for about a month and the baby's room (his old room) is a mess. I started going through clothes and even washed all the teeny ones but now I'm stuck organizing the 12-18 month ones and those just aren't as much fun. I have empty space-saver bags, a playmat, and a mobile thrown in the crib and several piles of stuff around the room. It's hard to find the time or energy to continue with the project. I stop working on March 30th but Camden will still be in school two days a week so hopefully I'll get to it then in between appointments and running errands.

Anyway, about the doctor's appointment. I had to have my regular appointment, glucose test, and RhoGam shot. I knew it would be a long appointment but I didn't realize all the back and forth I would have to do. I went to my usual spot in the waiting room and the nurse called me back to get my weight and stuff. I always get called back quickly unlike my doctor with Camden. Then she told me to go back out to the waiting room and the lab would call me in. The lab called me in a little while later and I drank the drink for the test. They sent me back out to the waiting room to wait for an hour until they could draw my blood. In the meantime I am supposed to have my doctor's appointment. They were running behind by this point so I had to wait a while. I had to wait when I got to the room, too, which was fine except it was approaching the time I had to get my bloodwork. Luckily someone came in to get me from the lab because I hadn't seen the doctor yet. They took my blood and as I was heading into my room in the doctor's side of the office she was also walking into my room. The appointment was quick. I talked to her about some dizziness and shortness of breath I've been having and she reassured me that it was normal and gave me some tips. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I haven't worked out in a long time. :) She checked the baby's heartbeat - 145 beats per minute! He has been very active lately, especially after drinking that sugary drink, so I wasn't concerned anything was out of the ordinary. I'm measuring 29 cm which she said is normal. I have a feeling this is going to be another big baby, but what do I know. After that part of the appointment the doctor gave me paperwork to go over to the hospital building (it is connected to the office building) so they could give me the RhoGam shot and I could pre-register for my hospital stay. I had to walk down the hall connecting the buildings which under normal circumstances would not be a difficult walk. I was getting tired by this point and was starving because it was almost noon. I had to wait in the waiting room of the outpatient admitting area for them to do whatever it is they needed to do to release the shot to me. Then they came out and told me it actually comes from a different lab so I needed to wait 10-15 more minutes! After getting the shot from them I had to walk back to the doctor's office to have the nurse administer the shot. Geez! When I was pregnant with Camden everything happened in one small office. This practice is much bigger, which I like in most ways, but they seem to use the hospital's supplies instead of stocking their own. All in all though it was a good appointment. The baby is healthy and it seems I am too. :) Now I just wait on the test results.

I feel like I look fat and disgusting, but here are belly pictures anyway. :)

I'm carrying much higher than with Camden.
