Busy Little Boy

That's right, Camden is one busy child. He has been so goofy lately and is usually trying to make us laugh. He has started to get a sense of humor and will say and do funny things. His new things is doing funny walks around the house - hunched over, jumping as he walks, etc. He likes playing the "Where is Camden?" game and will try to hide from us or will back up against a wall when we need to leave the house or change his diaper. Even if he wants to do those things he thinks it's hilarious to have us find him. Speaking of changing diapers we are one step closer to potty training. He tells us every time he poops. We are not going to start training until a few months after the baby is born but at least he is on his way. He will sit on his potty but has no idea what to do once he is on there! Camden loves going to the park and will say "slide and swings" when we mention going or if we pass a playground in the car. He also knows when we pull into the HEB parking lot and says "ball" because he gets a voucher to get a plastic bubble with points in it from a machine at the end of the trip. The points add up and he can get stuff with them but all he cares about is the ball.

Camden has been talking a lot lately. He has so many words and is starting to put two words together. He has a great memory too! I am amazed by him at what he can say and what he can remember. His favorite word is "no" followed by "Daddy" at a close second.
Camden is a typical toddler, I would think. He wants to be independent one day and the next day all he wants is for Mommy to hold him and do things for him. He thinks he knows what he wants but can't express it. Or he actually has no idea. Toddlerhood is a challenge but is also a lot of fun!

Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago when it was cold outside. We bundled up and went in the yard to play.

If you listen very closely you can hear Camden saying some animal sounds he knows. He likes running around and being silly and he really enjoys showing off what he knows.

It's a...............

We had our 20 week sonogram this morning and got to see the baby and find out if it is a boy or girl! We brought Camden with us, which was probably a big mistake. :) He didn't even want to leave the house this morning and was already making that known by whining and protesting. He also started crying in the waiting room so Mike took him out in the hall to play. When they came back in to go into the room he started crying again when he saw me. He wanted me to pick him up, which I obviously couldn't at the time. Mike did a good job at distracting him while I had the sonogram. The lady showed us everything in detail. The baby is very active and even the tech commented how the wiggly the baby was! The tech isn't allowed to tell us if everything looks normal and healthy but to me it did. She even said "well, yes, it looks fine but I'm really not supposed to talk to you about it." The baby weighs almost a pound. Here are some pictures. I really like the foot picture. I think it's so cute!

Here is a belly picture from this morning. It's really hard to get one when your toddler wants to be held!

And finally, the picture everyone has been waiting for...........

We are so excited that we are having another little boy! Camden and he will be close in age so they will hopefully be very close, share rooms, clothes, and all that stuff! I can't wait to go through baby clothes but we have a lot of organizing to do before that. I started cleaning out my closet already today to make room for some stuff from the guest room closet (which will be Camden's room). We have a lot to do but I am looking forward to it!

Finally, Christmas Pictures!

Camden's first taste of Christmas cookies.

What's on my head, mom?

Camden loves his oversized gorilla Mike's uncle sent us. He lays, sits, and jumps on it.
The first day it was cold - I didn't have anything to put him in so this is last year's coat and hat that was a little small.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday! This year we stayed home for Christmas because we have been traveling so much. (Even since Thanksgiving we had our first night away from Camden and Camden enjoyed his sleepover at Nonni's house.) My mom, brother, and Mike's parents came into town to celebrate with us. Camden got TONS of presents and had a good time playing with his new toys. We still haven't opened everything and he is still discovering ways to play with his toys. I've had a week off work so it's been nice to be a complete stay-at-home mom. I get to spend more time with Camden playing instead of always having to get something done. We have been going to the park almost every day because he'll ask for the slide and keys and sign swing.

Camden said swing for the first time today. He also said Elmo for the first time today. He loves all Elmo things, especially on TV. He woke up from his nap today asking for "baby, T, Elmo." He wanted to watch the baby on TV (a lot of his DVD's have babies on them) and then I guess he changed his mind to watching Elmo. He usually names everyone he knows after his naps or waking up in the morning. I think he is still expecting his grandparents and uncle to be here from last week! Camden also says and signs book when he wants to read. He loves reading and has a few favorite books. We were at a New year's Eve party the other night and he started to get fussy because it was bedtime. He starting signing/saying book so I asked him if it was time to go home to read and go night-night and he said yes. He sure knows what he wants! Every day he makes us laugh and smile as well as challenges us. We love him so much!
