3 Year Anniversary

Aprill 22nd was Mike's and my 3 year wedding anniversary. He researched restaurants in Corpus and figured out a good place to take me, but it was all a surprise to me! We got all dressed up, dropped Camden off at a new friend's house, and went to dinner. We ended up going to the Republic of Texas in the Omni hotel on the water. We got a great table by the window with a view of the marina and bay. It was wonderful to have a date night alone with Mike without worrying about Camden throwing food on the floor or smearing baby food everywhere. Of course we missed him but an adult dinner was worth it!

Camden got really silly laughing at Daddy at dinner the other night. I think he might be the next You Tube sensation. lol.

Easter and Traveling, Again

Camden's first Easter was fun. My mom came into town for the weekend but other than that, we didn't do much. We just spent some family time together. I wanted to take pictures outside after church but the grass was wet from all the rain we got that weekend. He had fun though going through his Easter basket - he got a toy cell phone and stacking cups.

Going through his Easter bunny basket

We had Easter dinner in front of the TV. haha. My mom had already left and we wanted to just have a relaxing Sunday night so we didn't feel the need to do a big thing.

The weekend after Easter we went to Charleston, SC for what was supposed to be a wedding that ended up being a family reunion. Long story that I don't even know all of. Anyway, we got to hang out with Mike's extended family and got to see Charleston. It's a pretty cool city. Very Southern. Mike's uncle has an amazing renovated historic house that we got to spend a lot of time in. Mike's family had fun meeting Camden, even though he has started stranger anxiety so he wasn't sure about some of them. This was Camden's third plane trip! He is a well-traveled little boy! I don't have any pictures of the trip because I kept forgetting my camera when we went anywhere. But here are some random recent pictures. He is crawling all over the place and cruising on anything he can get his hands on. He will let go for a few seconds at a time. He loves walking around the house holding onto our hands. He learned the sign for "all finished" but I don't think he does it when he's actually finished with his food. I think he more uses it when he's done being in his highchair. :) He's trying to talk more and holds out his hand to point to things and says "dat" which we think means "what is that?"

Spending quality time with Daddy.

Climbing on Daddy - they have so much fun together.

I try to get close-up pictures but he just tries to get the camera. Every time.

Opening Easter presents from Nonni (my mom). He also got some in the mail from Mike's parents. He has lots of cute new clothes!

He loves the dogs and they love him. Unfortunately he might be allergic to them. He gets hives when they lick him so we have to keep them away from him most of the time.

10 Months and Babyproofing

I can't believe Camden is 10 months! The time goes by so quickly. Everyone tells you that but you don't realize it until it happens. I can't believe he'll be a year in less than 2 months! That is nuts. I don't know if I'm ready to have a toddler... He tried to stand by himself today - he let go of his toys for about 2 seconds. It made me realize that walking is probably just around the corner. Speaking of that, we have started to babyproof the house. He is into everything now and is so curious, especially about the stuff he can't have. The house actually had a lot of outlet covers when we moved in, so that was good. I put some edge guards on some corners and cabinet locks on the fireplace doors (we have a 3-sided fireplace with glass doors that he likes to pull up on and open). The next step is to install cabinet locks on the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. I borrowed a super yard from a friend because he crawls away if I have my back turned for a second and I'm afraid he's going to hurt himself or get into something dangerous. I know there is no way I can take all hazards away (cords and stuff), plus I want him to learn over time what he can and cannot touch. So I just watch him very closely when he is playing.

Playing with my camera strap. I just kind of took this picture quickly becuase he was moving around but it actually turned out cute.

Grammy and Pops came for a visit two weekends ago. Camden was very happy to see them!

He has started to pull up on his highchair when he's hungry. He let's us know what he wants!

Peekaboo!

Beach Pictures

Daddy being goofy.

What is this stuff?

I like the waves on my feet.

First Beach Trip

Camden went to the beach for the first time. Well, technically. When we first moved here we stayed in a hotel on the beach and we put his feet in the sand really quickly and then we brought the dogs to the beach but it was cold and he stayed in the Baby Bjorn the whole 10 minutes we were there. So this was his first opportunity to play in the sand and water. He was back and forth between liking it and not liking it. He'd play and smile then turn to me and want to be held. He liked looking at the waves and pretty much liked them coming up on his feet. It wasn't that warm and was cloudy but we had fun!

Camden is waking up so I'll post pictures later!

Swim Lessons

Camden is taking his first swim class and loves it! He gets really excited and splashes around in the water. He even gets to go under. I wasn't so sure at first about that part, but the instructor taught us to blow in their face (which I thought was mean) and then put them under. I guess babies suck in when you blow in their face. After a couple times of doing it though, it wasn't so bad. Camden doesn't really know what to think of that part but he doesn't cry or anything. The point of this class is to get him comfortable in the water and I know going under is part of it. He LOVES "jumping" off the side! He laughs and shrieks when I lift him up and then down into the water. He tries to imitate me blowing bubbles in the water but just ends up opening his mouth and drinking some of it. The class is 30 minutes and then it takes almost another 30 minutes at the end of class to get him showered, dried, changed, and for me to get changed. Most of the moms just put the babies in the shower with them and then change them into p.j.'s so they are ready for bed for the night. The class ends at 6:00 so it works out well since they are so exhausted after the class.

He used to make this face all the time then stopped for a few months. Now he
makes it when he's excited or sees something he insterested in. It's hilarious.

It's kind of hard to see, but this is Camden on his back kicking in the water.
